Upper Echelon has an opportunity for a cyber security analyst to join an exciting company that provides cutting edge cyber security solutions to the supply chain and industrial automation sectors. 

The role

As a cyber security analyst, you'll be threat hunting alongside the CTO in a team of cyber security professionals. You’ll be working with a variety of clients on a wide range of projects, focused on the specifics of industrial enterprise. You'll be visiting client's premises assisting in conducting cyber security assessments to create high quality strategies for ultimate security. 

You will also be responsible for:
  • Daily monitoring of events in customers environments, triaging alarms, and escalating identified security issues
  • Assisting in the implementation of remediation strategies for customers, 
  • Periodically delivering cyber security reports 
  • Proposing remediation plans for identified security flaws
  • Providing analysis, trends, and recommendations from security log data
  • Assisting in the implementation of security monitoring tools
  • Working with the in-house team of talented developers to continuously improve your cyber security platform
A full time, permanent position, this role will pay up to $120,000 per annum and is negotiable for the right candidate. Based in Hamilton (Tron!), an area rapidly becoming one of the major tech hubs of New Zealand. A diverse city that was voted 'New Zealand's Most Beautiful Large City 2021' by the Keep New Zealand Beautiful Awards. Being just outside Auckland, Hamilton enjoys the low house prices while still having a relatively short commute to Auckland and Tauranga.

The Person

Being analytical, curious and a good communicator are just some of the attributes that make a good cyber security professional.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the cyber security space and across multiple domains
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows and Linux (configuration of server roles, security features) 
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking systems and security software (TCP/IP stack, routing principles)
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g., bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Understanding of the incident management life cycle
