Upper Echelon is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Analyst to lead a team of high performing and talented Information security professionals.

The role

We are looking for an experienced senior cybersecurity analyst ready to level up. You'll need drive, passion, high attention to detail, a strong ability to troubleshoot, and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. Working closely with a team of security specialists who make up our clients IT Security Operations business unit.

While this role is ideally Wellington-based, we could consider work from home options for stand out candidates from other parts of New Zealand.

Day to day you will -
  • Oversight of the day-to-day Security Operations Team
  • Lead effective and efficient threat management and response services
  • Implement and manage a library of automated playbooks for common information security threats and customise these plans for client specific environments
  • Provide guidance and support to the team on BAU and projects
  • Accountability and leadership in the Incident Management process, supporting clients in cyber-related compromise
  • Ownership of system security documentation
  • Holistic incident analysis and improvements across the Security Operation 
  • Assist with the generation and qualification of sales 
  • Analysis of Client Requirements and Service Onboarding


What we are looking for

Frequently, you’re working in a crime scene, so you need to understand the big picture when it comes to analysis and incident response. If you or your team delete or modify data, which was going to be relied upon as digital evidence, it might eliminate the option to prosecute the attackers.
You’ll have well developed networking fundamentals, understand advanced security analysis methodologies, have deep understanding of the fundamentals, and a solid understanding of the various cyber threats. Experience with controls and frameworks, Intrusion detection, Network security controls, Incident response, cloud security, Regulatory guidelines and DevSecOps.

Ideally Information Security qualifications e.g. CISSP, CISM, and CIAS

A full-time, permanent position, paying 130-150k+ for the right candidate.
